Vibroacoustic Therapy

VIBROACOUSTIC THERAPY

A 3D inner body vibratory sound massage focused primarily on the muscular, skeletal & nervous systems, resulting in healing vibrations positively shifting organs, tissues & cells to their natural state of health.

Fact: Vibroacoustic Therapy (VAT) has been shown to modulate the activity of the Vagus Nerve, promoting a cascade of physiological responses that contribute to enhanced well-being.
The Vagus Nerve, also known as the tenth cranial nerve or the “wandering nerve,” is a complex and extensive neural pathway that connects the brain to various organs, including the heart, lungs, digestive system, and even the skin. It plays a critical role in regulating the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for promoting rest, relaxation, and restoration.
Through the gentle vibrations and auditory stimulation delivered during
Vibroacoustic Therapy, the Vagus Nerve is activated and responds by triggering the release of neurotransmitters, such as acetylcholine, which has been associated with relaxation, reduced heart rate, and lowered blood pressure.

Moreover, Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) has been studied extensively for its therapeutic potential in various conditions, including epilepsy, depression, anxiety disorders, and chronic pain. The vibratory stimulation employed in Vibroacoustic Therapy can be considered a non-invasive form of Vagus Nerve Stimulation, harnessing the power of sound and vibration to elicit similar physiological responses.
Studies have shown that VAT-induced
Vagus Nerve Stimulation can lead to increased heart rate variability, improved digestion, reduced inflammation, enhanced mood, and decreased stress levels. These effects are believed to be mediated by the activation of the cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway, which helps regulate the body’s immune response and maintain a state of homeostasis.

inflammatory pathway, which helps regulate the body’s immune response and maintain a state of homeostasis.
By combining the soothing power of sound vibrations with Vagus Nerve Stimulation, Vibroacoustic Therapy offers a unique and promising approach to promoting relaxation, reducing stress, and supporting overall well-being. This scientifically grounded modality opens new avenues for therapeutic interventions and underscores the intricate connection between our auditory system, nervous system, and holistic health.

When the mind and the body are in a relaxed state all kinds of health benefits can happen.

  1. The Limbic system is signalled to return to a calm state, and over time helps the body to become better at self-regulation and more resilient to stressors.
  2. The relaxation response is activated, which creates a cascade of positive physical and emotional health benefits.
  3. The heart rate slows and heart rate variability ( HRV) improves, which is an indicator of stress resilience.
  4. Blood pressure lowers, which reduces pain from
  5. Tension and spasms.
  6. Pain lessens through a combination of increases of “Happy “Hormones.
  7. Circulation increases, which nourishes the cells and organs.

How Does Vibroacoustic Therapy Work- The Science

Vibroacoustic Therapy uses low frequency and therapeutic music delivered through special speakers called transducers. The transducers can be embedded within some sort of furniture such as portable mats, mattresses, and massage tables, custom tables with water bladders, beds and recliners. As a person’s body has contact with the embedded speakers, the músicos sent from the source into the transducers and then is felt by the body as vibration and heard by the ears as sound.
The Vibro-tactile input stimulates nerve bundles along the spine, up into the brain stem and then through the limbic system. In addition, the sound stimulates the medulla in the brain stem and activates the auditory nerve that connects with all the muscles of the body. These reactions signal the body to relax and flood the brain with mood lifting chemicals. In addition, the low frequencies also cause a relaxation of the tissues, and a dilation of blood vessels and an opening of the lymphatic pathways which in turn increases the body’s ability to heal.
